Major problems on the Six tonight in the NW.

First we get a North West weather map inset during Mark Simpson's report, going to black when Sian was talking

Then during the Six's Rememberance day report we hear Gordon Burns writing his scripts, reading "low-life scum" just after the Armistice Day report on the six,and going through the Headlines, whilst lots of images of NW stories are shown, including video of Liberty X! NW headlin sequence rewinds twice.

Then as we return to the six a report later we get the "In North West Tonight at 6.30" sequence, before returning to the report. Minutes later we are treated to this sequence again, this time in its proper slot!
how often do these regional news cockups occur on the beeb? Wink

I must admit - it' hardly like they happen daily as Scotland Today Addict implies? Sounds like a bad problem although I didn't see it, but I doubt it was deliberate (why would you?!)

By the way (and only as I can't resist) - Scotland Today Addict are you related to TV Addict?

If Scotland Today were to have these problems that would be pretty remarkable as there is a seperate pres area handling the opt rather than the studio itself

I'm in the NW and I didnt see or hear all them mistakes. Was it on Friday's Six? What was Gordon saying 'low-life scum' about?

How long's a peice of string? Speaking of cock-ups (and slighty off topic) There was a great peice last week, when Jon Sopel was covering the Terror Bill rebellion where Louis told all on her Friday night at the traffic lights....

Yep Friday's six. Was on Sky by the way. Not sure what was happening on Analouge.

Gordon mutter 'low-life' scum when he was writing his headlines. It was in the sequence for one of the stories.

I saw this too. What a shambles!!!!

Someone must have forgotten to de-activate the opt switch after the six headline opt, leaving the vision mixer "live" while they rehearsed.

What surprised me was how long it went on for. You would think that somebody would have been watching and called the gallery!

I was so amazed I almost phoned to complain as I missed all the important stuff on the news as a result!!

How many minutes of news was there? 5? OK, I'm being too kind. About 3 minutes of news.

The rest was pure crap.

I agree last night was rubbish - but tonight's was fab.
Much better than what was on Granada Reports!

A "Special Edition" of North West Tonight this evening.

The entire show, bar a weather report, was devoted to George Best.

As someone mentioned about the luncthime programme, we had the usual titles, but not the usual headline sequence.

We had no Update from the Six at the end of the newshour, NWT went straight through to 6.58ish.

All quite dignified IMO.

Yes BBC NWT and Granada Reports followed the same path devoting the whole show to Best apart from, in Granada's case, a brief news wrap on other stories.
I felt they both did very well.
They both even ended on music montages of George Best.
