Would appear no one else is bothering to post in this.
I was looking at the local RTS nominations today and saw that Gordon and Dan are both nominated for Presenter of the Year but Granada don't have any nominations in that category. (I think Dan deserves to win this!)
But in the Reporter category Granada have three nominations while only the excellent Jayne Barret is nominated for the BBC. (Does this say anything for the BBC's reporting recentky?)
While in the News Programme category the BBC only get one nomination and Granada get two.
Is this a fair judgement on the last year?
Normally the RTS is a BBC dominated event as the committee is made up of BBC people?
I was looking at previous years and the BBC normally do very well when it comes to nominations.
Even if the BBC win the prizes they seem to have been out performed.
Meanwhile I notice over the past few weeks that NWT has gone back to reporting traditional hard news.
There seems to be less of the fluff and naff features and more straight reporting and the Programme is better for it.
Has there been a re-think?

I have been one of many who have lain into (with good reason) NWT over the last year or so. However, I've gradually realised over the last few months, that we actually have possibly the best regional news service. My job means I travel the country a lot, and having seen the likes of South Today (my God) in all its tackiness, I much prefer Gordon with the occasional bit of fluff from Jayne Barrett.
I think NWT is getting slightly better.

Major problems on the Six tonight in the NW.
First we get a North West weather map inset during Mark Simpson's report, going to black when Sian was talking
Then during the Six's Rememberance day report we hear Gordon Burns writing his scripts, reading "low-life scum" just after the Armistice Day report on the six,and going through the Headlines, whilst lots of images of NW stories are shown, including video of Liberty X! NW headlin sequence rewinds twice.
Then as we return to the six a report later we get the "In North West Tonight at 6.30" sequence, before returning to the report. Minutes later we are treated to this sequence again, this time in its proper slot!
