"have a great night if you're going out tonight" at the end of a Saturday bulletin!

She dresses most of the time like she's either just been out or is about to go out herself on the town. She seems to enjoy doing 'The Guide'

She sounds a bit false when reading the news - emphasis is all in the wrong place. She gets the job done though!

Yeah, she does dress quite over the top. Seems like a really nice lady though.

Not seen the 'Guide' for a long time. Used to be on every Thurday on NWT but has been replaced with the continous competitions.

Did anyone see Breakfast this morning? Fiona was sat on the side of the desk. Looked very friendly and informal.

Fiona Trott is a really good newsreader, but if I could pick a fault it is at the start of her bulletins. She is looking down, then looks up, says " Good Morning" then looks down at her papers again before looking back up and continuing. Just a nervousness thing I suppose, just a bit messy and annoying

Yes I have noticed her doing that, always seems a bit pointless lol.

They did try the sitting ON the desk thing last year, Stuart did it on the 6.30 I think, but looked pointless and especially when you could see a perefectly good empty chair behind him.

I think it would work better at Breakfast and on the afternoon update. The afternoon bulletin always seems too formal after coming from George or Sophie standing at some 'stairs'!! Don't try it on the 10.25 though.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. It takes up about 10 seconds and that's a lot of time wasted for Breakfast I s'pose.

Apart from that, she's a great newsreader. I seem to remember her doing a few shifts on News 24 and she looked very very stern and cross. I suppose that's because she's very good at her job though. Where was she before? Was she on another regional news programme? What was she like there?

She did a few good live reports on News 24 when Carlisle was flooded last year. She did quite a good job, considering she was soaking wet and upto her waist in floodwater at the time.

Hello [looks down]

She's good apart from that strange habit . The last time I saw her presenting and reporting was on Look North ( NE & Cumbria) on the late bulletin. Her presentation was the same way last year. Fairly straight with few laughs. I never saw her do any lighter stories when she was reporting there.
I bet she likes a laugh , those quiet ones always do Wink

Yes, she does drop in the odd joke at times.

On a late bulletin last week when opting back to Fiona Bruce "and that's it from me now back to the other Fiona in London".

Also, Peter Marshall presenting the late bulletin tonight!

Definate proof that the NWT Headlines are pre-recorded, the whole picture was jumping badly throughout the Headlines (like an old damaged VHS) but then went to normal when Annabel came on with the first story.

Terrible start to the programme tonight, clearly the intro to the programme and hedlines are recorded.

From the start of the titles on George and Sian' cue right through to the opening wide-shot, including Annabel's introduction, the headlines and the sting, the picture was shaking violently. Looked awful.

Why do they not do this live? What is the advantage of recording it?

Who presented the lunchtime news today, because I think Annabel said she would be back for the late show?

NWT is now getting like GR with all these "email us your thoughts" and competition rubbish.
