Yes, agreed, Annabel is a good presenter, especially when on the 6.30. And she also comes alive when she is able to ad-lib, like when the news broke that Liverpool had won the Champions League, and she ad-libed a live two-way to Istanbul.
I would much prefer NWT to keep to its news rather than float off with tickets for all sorts and a competition for each day of the week.
I watched Breakfast for the first time in ages this week, and Fiona Trot was presenting on Monday, Thursday and Friday I think. Where is Nigel Jay? He used to bring the breakfast bulletins alive. "Good Monring, Nigel Jay here with the North West News"
The shifts at Breakfast have had no rota it seems. One minute its Fiona, then Ranvir, Kate Simms sometimes pops up and Nigel's gone. He's set up his own business called 'JayMedia' (I'll post you the website in a bit). Here'd be my ideal shift rota:
Breakfast: Monday - Wednesday - Fiona Trott, Thursday - Friday: Tina Bangs
1:30: Monday - Wednesday - Fiona Trott, Thursday - Friday: Tina Bangs
6:30: Anabell Tiffin and Nigel Jay
10:25: One week would be presented by Anabell and the next Nigel and so on
Weekend: Gordon Burns
Well I'm sure that the reason the presenters at Breakfast appear somewhat random is that they are probably contracted to work a set number of hours. If it was more viable to have 1 or 2 regular presenters I'm sure they would.

Oh it's nice to see Anabelle again did she present the 6 30 bulletin?
I think poor old Gordon is loosing enthusiasm for the programme, he had a dreadful cold the other week and could hardly talk!
I hope we see more of her over the summer!
I think Gordon voice was so bad the other week as he had just returned from Istanbul.
He appeared on, but did not present the NWT Special for the Liverpool Homecoming and all the shouting had taken its toll! LOL
The next day, a Friday I think, he presented NWT with a worn out voice - I'm sure it wsa great fun in Instanbul!

Yes he did as i remember seeing him whilst at my friends watching it on Sky channels! i felt rther sorry for him, surely they should have given him a recupertion day!
He wouldn't have been in a good enough condition to present the homecoming special, as he and Dan Walker had gone without sleep for near enough 24 hours and had stepped off a plane from Istanbul and been taken straight to Liverpool. No sleep or prep - not good!
He's not had a lot of time off either this year AFAIK. I can only remember two days when hes not presented NWT. Its quite ironic isnt it - hes the oldest and he's the only presenter who's full time. Good on him!
I can recall Jayne Barret presenting a couple of 6.30's a few weeks ago, and Annabel has presented, I remember her presenting a special segment of the show on the anniversary of the tragedy Morcecambe. And I think Stuart has also done a couple of programmes.
But yes, he rarely has time off, considering he presents North West Today and Tonight most days, quite remarkable really!
I don't think NWT is NWT when he isn't on, his banter with Dianne Oxberry at the end is sorely missed when another presenter is on. Although Annabel is a breath of fresh air. Wasn't over keen on Jayne Barret.
Yeah I agree about Jayne Barret. I dont think she's very good as a reporter either. Still, they always seem to give her the fluffy stories and put her on at the end so shes got no time.
What does everyone in the North West Region think of Tina Bngs? When she was on Breakfast, I really liked her and she was very friendly but now, at weekends, she seems a bit fed up.
Hmm yes, she does seem somewhat less animated these days. Even when she first went to weekend she was still quite lively.
She always comes accross very friendly at the end of a bulletin though, reassuring you when the next bulletin is and to "have a great night if you're going out tonight" at the end of a Saturday bulletin!
