Stuart Flinders is presenting this lunchtimes North West Today. I think Gordon must be on his way to Istanbul, he said last week that North West Tonight would be coming live from there this week.

EDIT: Gordon has just popped up reporting live from Istanbul.

Yes, its becuase Gordon is covering Liverpool against AC Milan. Dan Walker is as well.

Yep, Gordon is anchoring part of NWT from Istanbul, with Dan Walker and reporter Abbie Jones is also there.

North West Tonight came live from Istanbul tonight with Gordon Burns, as did North West Today.

They had special titles - with the shots of the region tinted red and the circles (ripples) replaced with the Liverpool FC emblem.

Anyone manage to capture them???

Annabel seemed to ad-lib on the 10.25 bulletin announcing the Champs League result (grrrrrrr!!!!) and when interviewing their sports correspondent live at around 10.30. She seemed very enthusiastic and friendly, much better than when reading of the autocue.

I can't see why they use reporter Jayne Barrett to present NWT when Gordon is off instead of Annabel anymore, Annabel is a great presenter.

apparently they've got an hour long special tonight for the liverpool fc homecoming!..what do you think... slight case of overkill or can a football match warrant an hour long special?..

Well worth it just to p*** off the Man Utd fans.... although to do that properly they should broadcast it to Surrey as well

I notice Carol Lowe is presenting North West Today, persumably Gordon and Stuart will be presenting from Liverpool for the NWT Special.

Wonder if she will work through to present the 10.25 bulletin, I assume she will be doing a news round-up on NWT.

Good to see Annabel on NWT today! As much as I like Gordon, Annabel seems to give the show more life. Sometimes when Gordons on, its seems a bit dull and slow but Annabel seems to make it a bit more interesting. I think Gordon would be better suited on the 10:25 or weekends.

Is it just me or is NWT becoming more and more less newsy as well? They spend about ten minutes on the news and then the next fifteen is about competitions and stuff like that.
