quite a few people were wandering around the studio at this time yesterday, when i was lookin at the webcam.

all watchin the Euorvision thingy on the big screen, after NWT bulletin ended.

they always had those chairs facing opposite each other wen doing an interview, so gordon had to lean over the side when talking to camera, although i did like them in the old style studio

Why waste money and get rid of perfectly good chairs that could be used elsewhere in the building? Might aswell keep them, even if they're not used on the set anymore! Smile

Intresting you say that NWT is becoming more light and fluffy like GR used to be, considering NWTs editor was the editor of former editor of GR just recently. Or so i read.

And oddly enough, I've recently found myself watching Granada Reports a lot more. I couldn't place why this was, but reading the above about the switch in agenda's makes a lot of sense. That, and the higher technical standard of GR.

Co-incidentally, I e-mailed NWT about the technical standard, and received a mail back from Phil Bromley, the NWT Production Editor, who stated the main reason they get the interference lines was "a direct result of the multi-generational copying in the editing process" and that they had also had problems with a couple of camera PSU's. He also said that it was also because they still acquire and transmit material in analogue, which sometimes had problems when being encoded for DSAT and DTT. Finally, he stated they were due for an upgrade and switch to full 16:9, but didn't say when.

Good programme thought tonight- and Gordon even smiled as well quite a few times a bonus i'd say. I give him credit he did an excellent interveiw with the health Minister and really slated the whoel NHS dentist crisis (this is true for the valley i liove in Rossendale ) And some light relief afterwards.Good job in general
