did anyone see the 3:25 news today.. i thought gordon was gonna collapse... had a bit of a coughing fit halfway through it.. Don't most presenters have cough switches these days?.. His throat seems to be getting worse and worse these days..

A switch the presenter can press to cut their mic. The mic is normally controlled in the gallery.

exactly... and not used nearly enough.. I think most places have them!!

Perhaps it is a presenter reshuffle coming up? They may be giving the others a rest if they will be changing their shifts soon

yeah, could be. as they have had Ravner* Singh(sp?), Stuart Flinders, Nigel Jay(last night), Dan Walker on a 3:20pm bulletin on in recent weeks.

My presenter line up would be something like this:

Breakfast: Shared by Carol Lowe and Tina Baggs
Lunchtime: Shared by Gordon Burns and Stuart Flinders
Evening: Shared by Peter Marshall and Annabell Tiffin
Late: Shared by Nigel Jay and Ravner Singh

It is most odd that there are so many 'odd workings', especially Stuart Flinders presenting the late bulletin when they have so many presenters.

The only reason Dan Walker was presenting the 3:20 bulletin that day was because Gordon was out visiting Hazel Blears for a story they were covering and with it being a Friday and Dan working, I suppose they thought instead of calling in another member of staff, they may as well use Dan.

Plus, Nigel's got his own company now so that may be why he's not on as much anymore.

I also like that schedule, but I would probably have it this way :

Breakfast: Ranvir Singh, Peter Marshall
1: Gordon Burns, Nigel Jay
6: Anabell Tiffin and Stuart Flinders, Carol Lowe and Peter Marshall
10:Fiona Trot, Tina Bangs
Weekends: Peter Marshall or Tina Bangs
