Heather Scott is now back in the UK full time now, IIRC she emmigrated to New Zealand a few years back, but she does the Breakfast show on BBC GMR and the NWT Weather when Nicola is unavailable, which has been alot quite recently. Though whenever she's back on NWT, Gordon always says 'For One day only...' or something similar.

Why was Crime Watch coming from Manchester, has it moved or was it a one off? Also i see Heather Scott has been back again these last few days at 1.40pm

There was no apparrent reason, though they did seem to feature more stories from the northwest than usual and constantly refer to regional initiatives to reduce gun crime etc. They also reminded the viewers frequently that the programme was "Live from Manchester". Not a bad idea IMO. Perhaps the programme should come from as many regional centres as are left ... sadly I don't think there are too many largeish regional studios still in use. Presumably, this programme came from Granada? Apart from the large studios in the BBC Nations, there are few BBC facilities left where CW could come from. Is there still a larger studio in Newcastle?

Gordon usually presents the 1.30pm bulletin, I agree it's rare when Fiona presents it, if Gordon is unavailable, the next choice is Stuart Flinders, but he must not be available today or something.
It also explained the weird announcement at 1.00pm, which wasn't done by the usual voice over.

Fiona Trot presenting North West Today this lunchtime, she also presented the bulletins at breakfast today.
Is the usual, I never usualy get to see the lunchtime program, and always assumed Gordon still presented it?

There was also a similair unusual announcement before the Ten on Tuesday when Ranvir Singh did the late bulletin.
It seems Stuart Flinders is unavailable as he is reporting on the Iraqi abuse story.
Rather impressed by Fiona Trot on NWT today, I was never over keen until now. She also said that Annabel would be back at 3.25, so I assume she will also present North West Tonight!

Fantastic to see Anabelle on today and presenting the MAIN bulletin it's not often we see her. Stuart looked a bit peed off that Anabelle was presenting as the replacement for Gordon nowadays. She is much better than the others.
