Eno Eruotor is to join NWT as a weather presenter according to Gordon's latest email. They are planning live forecasts in more bulletins, so presumably she'll be on the late one.

I believe she's been on Radio Leeds in the past.

I believe most regions are to have an extra weather presenter - there's a new woman in Leeds too taking their permanent weather team to three (so there'll be fewer pre-record breakfast weathers from London and also possibly live weather at the weekend).

There was a plan for all main regional opts to have a live, locally presented weather forecast. The increase in the number of presenters is designed to enable centres to cope with that demand and also with the demands of presenting for radio and the internet. At the moment, breakfast TV bulletins have local forecasts, but most of them are done by the Weather Centre, and weekend forecasts generally take the form of a graphics sequence. The idea is that they all would be locally presented (whether live or recorded remains to be seen!) AFAIK, sub-opt sites like Cambridge won't sadly get a weather presenter ... that may change ... at least in the parent site (Norwich in Cambridge's case) would have more people to provide a bespoke forecast should they see fit...

Just noticed that NWT have got a night version of the view of Salford, and you can actually see the reflections of the lights in the water moving on this one too. I presume it's pre-recorded rather than actually live.

Messy shot, that - get rid of the CGI on the backdrop, and the monitor in the desk?!!?

Actually I noticed that at the end of the 6.30 show too, the monitor does seem more noticeable than it used too.

Looks like they need to put some blackwrap around that monitor - or reduce the amount of light hitting it.

Why can't they make the background red!? It would look heck of a lot better.

Where did they get that CRT monitor from anyway - a car boot sale? Confused

I agree. It clearly only a white backcloth, flooded with blue lighting. So, nothing pysical about the set would have to be changed - just the colour of the lighting. The blue is completely at odds with the now strictly red-and-white everything else. Come on BBC Manchester - SORT IT OUT! Evil or Very Mad
