That's Jane Cheater, the occasional weather presenter and reporter (usually presents on GMR i think)

I think she's from Radio Merseyside, but she was the fill in presenter when Dianne was off on Holiday and when Heather Stott used to do part time at the BBC and part time at Channel M, where as now she's at the BBC full time and usually covers Dianne. Mark Edwardson or Carol Lowe musn't be available this week.

Anyone who recieves Gordon's newsletter will know that apparently on the NWT site they will be adding a Where are they now section, and he does include Messers Munday and Jay, should be interesting reading when it gets added.

I should pay them, ?

I think BBC news presenters get a bit bigger pay cheques than infant school teaching assistants.

If you actually speak to the camera, or have an active involvement in it, then you have to sign a release form (eg, I was once on Time Team and I had to have proof of identity, photograph, and several forms signed). Often, when TV crews go into an enclosed space, they'll also ask everyone in the room to sign a release form (just to be safe).

If it's outside (in a public place), then you have to tell the Police you're going to do it, and if you're on privately-owned land you also have to have the owner's permission.

If it's in a public place, you only notify police if your going to be causing disruption i.e. parking a sat truck on the road. Apart from that your more or less free to go film who you want, when you want (within good reason of course) Only in an 'enclosed' space is permission required, or that of the council may be required to film on certain parts, but this is all dependent on what your needing to shoot and in what context.

News, being ad-hoc, only requires those under 16 to give parental consent, and provided your not going to be singled out in any particular way, can be easily filmed without consent in the streets.
