Well, you think BBC news becomes boring, then suddenly, an interesting Corporate! design is revealed.

This will work for all regions, and I hope it rolls off into the other regions soon.

The plain blue of the set does bother me, I like the skyline of the national, in the blue shades.

Can someone on the inside, let us know if this is a new corporate look, or just North West's.

Also, I think the

Live News, Local News, Your News

is the closest we have come in this country to US Local news, and I hope if London takes on this new style of titles, this gets replaced with

On Radio, On TV, Online

which BBC LDN introduced, and BBC London uses, as this sounds better IMO

I really like the look. It seems to be a perfect mesh of American and UK style. I relly like the set, but the blue seems too "CSO". It probaly wouldn't work, but it would be great if they keyed in Oxford Road in the blue.

With all due respect, we don't want the American style! US news programmes are incredibly tacky and over-the-top. There's no comparison between US and British news presentation. Britain will always win hands down.

I never said that it looks American. I mean aestetically, It's a mix of UK an American, so I guess Australian would be a better subscription. American graphics are incredibly garish and bold. I never said I liked them.

an example of US local news...

This isn't the one I had in mind as a comparison, but I did see the local news in New York and Florida, and they had taglines in their titles...

Does anyone know how much this relaunch is likely to have cost? How much would the opening titles cost to make? Not whingeing about it, just curious.

An update on the correct presenter schedule.

Breakfast - Naomi Cornwell,/Carole Lowe Cover- Kate Simms

Lunchtime - Gordon Burns

Evening - Gordon Burns and Ranvir Singh Cover - Mark Edwardson and Annabel Tiffin

Late - Annabel Tiffin/Ranvir Singh Cover - Mark Edwarson/Kate Simms

Weekends - Mark Edwardson/Kate Simms

Who would cover for Gordon Burns on the Lunchtime Edition? I am surprised that Ranvir is not utilised more either at lunchtime or late evening. NWT must have a wealth of talent compared to BBC Scotland.

I assume Carole Lowe - as she has moved from the evening bulletins to early mornings.

I think all regions should incorporate this style of opening titles. Not only do they incorporate the local place names of the 1999 relaunch, but also the pictures of local places from the 2002/03 relaunches and a hint of the nationals with the strong reds.

BBC London is the one region I think would benefit most.

Yep I totally agree!

Wasn't aware Carol Lowe was moving to breakfast, she's quite good IMO.

Is Mark Edwardson now Gordon's stand-in then?

new website now up bbc.co.uk/nwt

They've only changed the header but at least it's now in the same theme as the titles now

Great new look, though a few grumbles.

The floor of course. Should be matte paint.

The blue background. Not the colour, just the plainess of it, it seems like a syke, which looks bad in my opinion. Very ninties.

Haven't heard the music yet (audio hardware on my PC has broken itself. Nothing to do with me of course).
