A very sloppy edit. Obviously they don't have the source files. They really should've commissioned a completely new title sequence in that case.

I'm pretty sure they wanted to do the same thing as News Channel/World did in July with their titles.

You're probably right - but at least the national and world news titles don't have artifacts - the BBC News logo box wasn't burned into it and was easily changed. They just didn't bother Reithing the numbers on the 1, 6 and 10. The intent was fine, the execution, definitely not.

Somebody didn't fact check that opening link properly - Warrington is in North West England, not North East!

The opening titles have now been Reith-ed and they have also moved the DOG more into the top right corner.

But the sting is still in Gill Sans ¯_(ツ)_/¯

And the DOG tonight has went back to being 4:3 safe...

And this morning it’s back in the corner...!
