I visited BBC News and Sport on Tour in Portsmouth yesterday and struggled to find it.

I had to pay a load of money to get in to the Festival of the Sea (where the tent was).

I was talking to a lady near the sports commentating box, she spoke very highly of you, Nicky!

Great day out, shame I was only able to do a Newsbeat bulletin and vision mixing, but hey everyone needs a go!

Am hoping to get to the Leicester leg at the weekend. Does NickyS or anybody else know who's booked to be there?

I'm confused, where exactly is the Newcastle venue? I'm going to the Tall Ships thing, but that location doesn't really help. Will it be obvious when you get there?

Been to the Newcastle one today.

Jane Hill, Chris Eakin, Nicky Schiller, Russel Hayes, Steve Cram etc. present and correct. Nicky didn't have a break all morning, I don't think.

Had a go at TV News first. Was told I was so good, Russel Hayes gave me his card, and was told to get in touch with Wendy Pilmer courtesy of the BBC Director of Regions, Pat something. He was fab. I was obviously dead pleased Very Happy

James, I'm going, is the venue obvious as soon as you get to the Quayside?

I'm now pretty convinced that the Edinburgh leg is going to be within the "Truckfest" show at the Royal Highland Showground. That probably means a hefty entrance fee.

That's not cool.

Afraid I was too busy working, didn't even get near BBC News at the Great Yorkshire Show... in fact seeing Calendar's SNG was about as close as I got.

Yep. It's at the truckfest. Yippee.

And yea, the venue is quite obvious, stand on the Gateshead side of the Quay, look away from the river and there's a huge screen at the top. It's just behind that. Say hi to me!

It's near the Baltic. Can't miss it. Approach from Gateshead... the bridge is going to tilt more regularly than often. Expect loads of people, the tall ships are nearby.

Out of interest, are the BBC allowing the public loose with their new flashy weather GFX at the tour? Or are they just providing the old 'basic' maps? Because I can just imagine some rather haywire weather bulletins where the maps go wrong, or some poor child getting rather lost as the map starts doing its flyovers and zooms in and out. Also, the possibility of forecasting 'dark and light patches with a hint of blue in central areas' suddenly become very feasible. Shocked
