Hi

I'm looking for an accurate description of the style of music that is the BBC News theme composed by David Lowe. For example, styles would be: orchestral, rock, jazz, electronica, etc. My thinking is that Lowe's music has its genesis in the late 1990's post-rave global-influenced electronic dance music, and is therefore 'electronica' in style.

To me it sounds more like a mix of Breakbeat or Techno sort of music, but 'Electronica' would definitely cover the bases.

I think the official definition is "some sort of apocalyptic rave"

In an interview, David Lowe described the dotted-rhythm beat as 'world' if that's any use.
