The other reason why the NW Breakfast opts couldn't be from the Breakfast studio is that the same space is also used for the news bulletin during Andrew Marr's show

I don't see how that would be a problem. The Andrew Marr show is at 9 am when Breakfast has gone off air. If the Andrew Marr show is on earlier they often cover the news from London - Riz Lateef usually.

The turnaround is too tight.
Need to rehearse.

Is there currently time to rehearse? The presenter sometimes leaves the Breakfast sofas as late as 0848 and the programme is on air at 0900. I don't know the layout but presumably it takes them a few minutes to get between the two or is it a technical rehearsal?

I've been wondering recently - what happens to the old news desks and furniture? I know that part of BBC Breakfast's sofa got auctioned off a few years ago for Comic Relief but what happened to all the old news desks from TVC?

I'd hope the N8 one went in a skip. It was in a terrible state when World moved in, let alone when TVC closed.

I'm pretty sure one Breakfast sofa found a good home in a garden.

There aren't any regional opts on Breakfast on Sat/Sun - or am I missing something?

The point I was trying to make is that the same space has, on occasion, been used for the Marr bulletin while Breakfast was on the News Channel, demonstrating that it wasn't a corner of the same studio.

I think Breakfast always finishes at 9am when Marr is on, even if it's broadcast on BBC Two because of the London Marathon or some other sporting event.

I can't remember a time when Breakfast was still running on the NC while Marr was being broadcast.
