Where do they record Reporters? By the looks of it, its recorded on a Friday night.

IIRC, Reporters and This Week were presented in front of the CSO screen in N6. Mind you, that was going back a few years. I don't know whether they are still presented from there.

Hard Talk is recorded between the One O'Clock News and Six O'Clock News.

What about the news update at 3.20, or is it all over by then?

It's only a 30 minute interview programme - doesn't take all day Laughing

Both were originally recorded in BBC World's studio - as was Hardtalk. Hardtalk moved to the BBC One studio (when World moved down from the 6th floor in early 1999), and a few years later Reporters followed. This Week is still done by BBC World's studio team I believe.

Green screen.

I used to always feel sorry for the presenters on the ITV News Channel, having to present for hours on end from what looks like a very bright green curtain.

Wouldn't that give you a big headache?

Especially went interviewing someone looking at a blank green screen.

HARDtalk is recorded in TC7 at 1500 usually.

Newswatch is recorded in N6 Fridays between BBC ONE summaries.

I think I'm right in saying that the images on ITV's newswall are projected on feintly for the benefit of the presenters, but not to the extent that it affects the CSO.

I believe the BBC weather studio uses the same method.

I wonder...

When BBC Scotland finally move to their new building, I wonder whether the Reporting Scotland / Newsnight Scotland shared-studio/set will be yet another copy of the N6/TC7 "shoebox" set? This would allow Newsnight Scotland to look exactly like its network sibling.

I was going to ask about Newsnight Scotland actually - has there been any changes since Newsnight revamped?

Also, talking of Newsnight has there been any changes to their graphics since News 24 revamped?

You can see for yourself! Smile Idea

Click the "BBC Scotland Player" link in the far top-right of the BBC Scotland website front page, the small window that then opens has a drop-down menu in its top-right, from which you can select to play Newsnight Scotland ! Smile

Newsnight graphics/astons/namestraps (whatever) are the same as they were before the News 24 revamp.

There was talk of the new studio looking out real windows over the Clyde ala the old London Tonight set. but it wouldn't surprise me if it will just be another BBC News set clone.
