I think you'll find that Bectu pretty much got what they wanted from the result of the 1st strike. It's the NUJ that's been more militant this time.
But your comment doesn't suprise me, seeing that you're most probably a nobody trying to make trouble on the boards.

It's reassuring that you see fit to grace us mere mortals with your presence, oh great one. Lose the superiority complex bitch.

Leaving aside the accuracy or otherwise of dodrade's comments, please could you drop the superiority complex. It's very tiresome. Why do you feel the need to keep reminding us that you regard yourself as a 'somebody'?
Edit - beaten to it by Sput. Great minds...

I have never claimed to be anyone, certainly not a 'somebody'.
I am just an average Joe who is caught up in all of this, and who will not let such nonsense go unchecked.

Yes indeedy. As well as BBC Radio Berkshire's roundup of world news with a Berkshire perspective. The IRA targeting mortar bombs at new bus lanes north of Reading, 425 million people being killed at a bird sanctuary in Binfield near Bracknell... that sort of thing.
And here is some of that good news from Martyn Lewis, courtesy of Armando Iannucci on Radio 1, circa 1993/1994.

And AOL Broadband. Got the same message.
Might I suggest you go and get a decent ISP that does not force you to use a proxy if you do not wish to?
Anyway, here is the file for anyone that wants it.

I remember those clips. It was real audio of Martin Lewis reading normal news stories from a recent BBC news broadcast, with 'nice' and 'happy' words inserted over the bad ones by Richard Herring.
Very funny. Was that the show which contained the 25 second Simon Bates 'Our Tune' edits as well..?

Maybe you use a proxy-server. Premium-users are not affected by this ban. Maybe you might want to get a PREMIUM-Account, too.

I think it would be good news if it did go to another ballot. I suspect the majority of BECTU members would vote to accept the BBC's offer.

He must be freelance then but under a sub-contract at the BBC. Therefore he must have been pleased to work during the strike and earn a hefty wage for doing so.
He's freelance. Plain and simple.
Why is that so hard to understand?

For once I agree wholeheartedly. The notion of being 'freelance' does seem to give some people funny ideas. The amount of bollocks about contracts etc that's posted here is incredible.
