If they strike again next week, Susan Osman will do repeating her previous Monday shift.

I thought Stephen Cole's delivery of the script on Monday was at times slow, and cluncky.

Maybe this was due to him, or maybe the autocue operator getting to grips with the speed controller.

Isn't the speed of the autocue controlled by the speed of the newscasters delivery, as opposed to the other way round?

It was just Stephen - his delivery and presentation style has always been slow and clunky, almost to the point of being dramatic. Don't think there were any technical issues involved.

IM sure its the speed of the newsreaders delivery because over nights on News 24 you see and auto cue in the gallery or what ever it is and if the newsreader slows or speeds the autocue follows... ive also noticed the and autocue in the sky news centre in a couple of shots.

What colour is he now?

He was a strange shade of green when thanks to bad CSO-ing when I saw him.

CNBC Europe's studio autocues are operated by a foot-pedal under the newsdesk when they are sat, when they are at the newswall it is controlled by the gallery, or, in the case of Simon Hobbs, he adlibs.

I'm not sure about other news channels though, although I would have thought that they would be pretty similar.

Does that mean Akhtar Khan will be doing his all night shift two days in a row and will Stephen Cole return once again?

I would like to think that fewer people will strike next week....they were in the minority last week after all.

This is the fundamental failure of striking- the service (whatever that may be) gets better and better with each strike, making those striking appear more and more obscelete.

Why don't you like Susan, Marcus?

Your comment about BBC management slagging her off does surprise me. There are a LOT worse than her working at the BBC!

The strike wouldn't really affect the BBC as much next Monday (bank holiday) although Tuesday could be well affected.
