Who the heck is Susan Donald. She just did Reporting Scotland and she looked scared and frozen to the seat.
BBC Scotland's director of Forward Planning. A bit of Googling reveals she's also done some reporting on Frontline in the past. She also presented the 1828 bulletin this afternoon.

Reporting Scotland crashed into the weather, but nothing dramatically bad. The reports sounded like they were read by people working on the worst possible local radio stations, and the presenter ... well exactly what was said earlier.

ITV News just ripped the piss out of the BBC on the 10.30pm by presenting a report about the strike from a virtual studio made up to look like News 24's ... and going on about the average salary of staff, etc etc.

Strange... she didn't do the 6:30 bulletin - I saw it but didn't make a note of the newsreader's name.

We actually had a BBC London news bulletin just now (unlike at 1830) which was read by some woman called Dippy Chaudhary (what a name!)

Won't they just be returning as if to start at Midnight?

No People won't be entering the buildings until 0001

Marcus, as someone who is is reliable source of information regarding BBC News, and how it all works. How long will it take for BBC World studio to be ready to go "live" after 00:01?

Thanks

Si!

I doubt they will get anything out of the World studio tonight. They will be back for 0500 tomorrow morning. I guess the night team on News24 will take over during the midnight

Susan Donald looked nervous on the late RPS.Stephen Cole seemed to be saying something then all of a sudden it was RPS.Susan should have said and now Reporting Scotland or the headlines in Scotland. She was looking sideways at a moniter and just said good evening,it did not seem quite right all very rushed. At the end RPS seemed to over run and joined the weather after it had started.

Now he's going to stay up and watch News 24 from 01-06.00am...

And why on earth would News 24 join the BBC World studio? BBC World joins the News 24 studio at 01.00am...everyday. So don't cry, you're not going to see any proper BBC World bulletins until 0600

Tim Bishop - head of BBC East - is presenting Look East!

And he's dreadful.

Just goes to show that the BBC has far too many over-paid managers, and it's these people that should be sacked from the BBC. The BBC has more suits than talent, and as we have seen today which is very clear - the suits have no talent, and it amazes me how they are in the high positions that they occupy.

It's well known in the BBC that the crap staff are usually promoted out of harms way. Either that or they have a medical problem and need to be found a job

Here in the North West we got that Leo bloke again at 10.25. The webcam window was still showing Manchester in glorious daylight!

There was no wide shot at the begining of this bulletin and we crashed into the weather with no end sting.

The 6.30 bulletin was rather good though, if you didn't no there was a stike on you might not know (that's if you wernt expecting Gordon with his 30 minutes). Leo whoever was rather good IMO.

Interesting presenting style on the late bulletin tonight. Patrick sat on a stool by the plasmas on the side of the studio, with the camera looking backwards towards the sport screen. Was something happening in the newsrom that we didn't want to see?
lol, either they cant work out how to fix the main screen, or the emptiness of the newsroom was a bit embarrassing. if they wanted minimum effort and a less contentious backdrop, they could have sat at the camera position overlooking the canal. unless the lighting wasn’t put back after the politics show on sunday.

anyway - here's pat on his stool

hmm were these crap opts back due to dodgy counts on network talkback or just ignoring them? Leeds were late back at 18:30, crashing into the Radio2 trail
