Susan was talking about the National Lottery and was supposed to be going to a live piece with Evan Davis.Someone showed the wrong report,it was still about the Lottery. After a few minutes they cut back to Susan and you could hear someone in the background saying that was for 24 not the one then she went live to Evan Davis.
Why is Susan Osmond Presenting on News 24 .Surely she should be supporting her fellow colleagues .
Isn't this kind of statement unfair ?
Supposing that Susan isn't a union member ? It is only union members who are permitted to strike, anyone else doing so would be breaking their contract of employment.
We don't know the personal circumstances surrounding any of the individuals who are working today, and as such, who are we to judge ?
The front of the Sky News website says
The BBC's lunchtime news has been taken off the air as thousands of BBC journalists and technicians stage a walkout over job cuts.
I personally would not say it's been taken off air. Merely a clever use of resources.

But Susan Osman is not usually at News 24.
She obviously sees this as a golden oppotunity to get on air and to make a quick buck at the same time.
I have heard very senior management slag her off mercelessly in meetings. The all think she is rubbish so she will never get on. God know what they have promised her but it won't materalise. They are all as trustworth as Tony Blair.

I think it's a fair point to make.I seem to remember during a BBC strike a few years ago Anna Ford crossed the picket line, she did say that she was on a contract and freelance.
Scottish TV were covering the strikes outside BBC Scotland in Glasgow. Unfortunately I lost a few of the caps I took, but here's those which I managed to get:
Actually today BBC News 24 is doing something what the BBC should be doing - offering something different.
Usually you get the three main news channels covering the same stories at virtually the same point each hour. Instead today we have BBC News 24 providing us with a standard bulletin on the hour and features on the half-hour - and still managing to keep up to date with developments.
It also shows that it makes sense for BBC1 bulletins to be simulcast on BBC News 24 (and even BBC World), rather than having three bulletins at once. The main concern on simulcasts has been breaking news, but any major breaking story makes it on to the BBC 1 bulletins anyway.
