Why is Susan Osmond Presenting on News 24 .Surely she should be supporting her fellow colleagues .

I dont know funky , i thought she was finished with ( and at ) the BBC . I 'm surprised to see Daisy Sampson and Julia Caesar working today, very surprised. Confused

The strike seems to have little effect on the business/sport coverage because we're getting the normal presenters: Declan Curry was on during breakfast, now it's Julia Cesar. Jamie Robertson presented World Business Report and Adnan Nawaz does the sport.

ITV News have got a nice line of questioning on the Lunchtime News. Why are there strikes? Why are the budgets being cut? What are is the Union saying? Oh no,

"What will happen to soaps like Eastenders?"
and
"The National Lottery programme may be affected."

Rolling Eyes They had a report which answered all of those questions with contributions from Jeremy Dear and third party analysis from Stewart Purvis. Perhaps you need to pay more attention Wink

Well, next up, the BBC One O'Clock News.....

Any guesses on who's presenting??

Could it be Susan who's on News 24? Could it be another picket line breaker, or maybe even a BBC Manager???

We'll know soon! Doesn't look like we are getting regional news though

News from Media Guardian regarding Terry Wogan;

"Terry Wogan today defended his decision to cross the picket line at the BBC, where workers are striking over 4,000 proposed job cuts.

The BBC Radio 2 Breakfast show host, who earlier presented his show, appeared at the Chelsea Flower Show later in the day and explained why he had gone into work as normal.

"Of course I have sympathy for them [the strikers] but I have a job to do. I am on a contract," he said."

They also mention that Picketers at the Chelsea flower show were ordered to move on becuase BBC Bosses complained that it was secondary picketing.

So, the 1 O'Clock is coming from the News 24 studio, although it looks like the BBC National News graphics, and there has already been an OB mess up.

"Tim, it's not the One, it's News 24." Minor audio chaos there.

Susan Osman presenting One O'Clock News from News 24 studios

No countdown on N24 just a spinning orange globe for 30 seconds

BBC World have a recorded bulletin from earlier instead on N24 simulcast at the moment.

Also, it appears that economics editor Evan Davis has broken the strike - most high profile news reporter/presenter so far?

He was also on earlier, at the Lottery press conference - he did a fairly long interview with the new Chair of Camelot.

I note the absence of the tower - is it not possible to have it on News 24 and not BBC One?

Okay, so a good broadcast so far, with only two exceptions so far, wobbly cameras and crashing out of a report into an unprepared OB audibly saying "this isn't 24 is the One".

Not too bad in all respect
