Were seeing a repeat of the 0400 GMT BBC News on BBC World with Akthar Kahn. His introduction was a little to soon but I think he can do it quite well. Although he might want to remove some eye-liner.
World Business Report coming from News 24 newsroom with Jamie Roberston and Old Opening titles which IMO are quite good as I used to remember.
Early hours yet but I wander what else us BBC Worlders get to see.

Actually he has been on since 1am and has done every bulletin live since then. There was no World Today, so he hasn't had a proper break yet. For someone who usually presents a travel programme, he's not doing too bad!

Poor Bloke. He's been on since 2am and only had a break between 5-6am for the World Today. On the other hand, we did get a 50+ second countdown. No mention by him that things look different today and business as usual albeit under different circumstances.

I know!
I thought what the hell's happened here? Because I thought we were going to have a normal Breakfast programme - just with no regional news bits...
Declan's still doing his bits from the Stock Exchange, but I think they're only once an hour now.
Of course, it will be interesting to see what they do after 9am... with the updates on BBC ONE at the end of each hour - and then the full effect of the strike will be shown at 1pm with BBC ONE's first main bulletin

yep, iirc they played it some weeks ago, and a few forumers shat themselves because they thought it was the end of the new look, and all that rubbish. personally I quite like those titles. and Akhtar Khan is doing a fab job at the mo on world and N24. world's gone recorded.

Anyone else recognise the Breakfast theme from 2000-ish? Or was it me?

So to summarise...
Overnight on News 24 was as follows...
00.00 News (Recorded from World studio). Then from 01.00 news for half an hour, BBC World opt out at 25 past, UK news continuing until half past, then weather, then recorded programme for the last half of the hour. Akhtar Khan on from 1am and still going strong. Doing a good job, he should get noticed by management for doing a good job at any rate.
Hopefully we will have some cracking long countdowns today!!

I thought this was quite interesting - it was clearly recorded at 11.30, and would have only been used after the strike began. On the other hand, it was just two links, just used once..
I see someone in the gallery this morning worked out how to use an ARC - Talking Movies started off in the wrong aspect ratio, but when I looked again, was as it should be.
So how long till Aktar Khan falls asleep at the desk?
Also, I'm curious to see how BBC Parliament is affected. I think the current arrangement is that researchers (who find out what's on in Parliament during the day, and prepare some of the graphics) are BBC staff, but the tech ops who do all the captioning and engineers who do recording and playback are employed by Millbank Studios, which is owned by ITV plc. The prerecorded bits on just now should work fine, but by the time we get to live Commons coverage, the captions might be MP names only.

The UK news on News 24 finished, and within two seconds after a sting the presenter re-appeared to give the World headlines again, before saying "full details in 30 minutes". It's almost as if the UK news is being treated as a regional opt-out. I assume a recorded programme will be on next.
