BBC Radio Five Live have updated their online schedule......

Every programme remains in place, with named presenrters for all programmes including up all night and Drivetime with Simon Mayo etc

here's a snippet of what it says for tonight;

22:00 Phil Williams
Phil Williams with analysis of the day's top stories. Have your say - text 85058 [network rates apply].

01:00 Up All Night
News from around the world, presented by Joanne Griffith. Have your say - text 85058 [network rates apply] (Our schedule may be disrupted due to industrial action.)

So, that leads me to think that the management don't even know who will or will not go on strike.....

With the expected scale of the strike I think its reasonable to assume that only core services will be maintained; By which I mean: The World / Newsnight / Sportsday / BBC News Extra / Business Today etc to be cancelled.
Does anyone have an update on the impact of the walkout?

And as expressed above by some posters and as a journalist myself may I wish all who take a stand on an issue which matter to them so much my full and whole hearted support.

Joel.

From what I understand and from people I have spoken to, is that all those in the unions will be striking, and those that aren't, or have not been booked to attend before the strike was announced, will also not go to work, so it could turn out to affect the BBC rather significantly.

Just noticed that on South Today, Jo Kent didn't say her usual line at the end of the programme - "We're back tomorrow with updates in BBC Breakfast from 6:30," she just said "We're back tomorrow." Could this give us a hint about something?

Yes, I noticed ITV NEWS and they said that BBC are going to push the strike to the maximum possible disruption since the 80's (with testcards being played on BBC1 from midnight) instead of the normal BBC Night News
And BBC BREAKFAST will not be broadcast tommorow, a recorded programme will be played.
All of BBC NEWS will be broadcast from Westminster studios and all BBC Reporters that are not striking will step in to help.
Also, NEWSNIGHT is cancelled and the BBC N24 Channel will not be broadcast all day due to BECTU strike action.

Don't you understand that tomorrow there will be next to no live news, of any kind, radio or tv, national or regional.

You are another case of a know-it-all who doesn't really know anything. OR, if you're just quoting ITV News, then they're being ignorant, and you should know better. (perhaps)

Staff at 'BBC Westminster'; or Millbank as it's called, are also on strike tomorrow, so no programmes will be coming from there.

It's not only Newsnight that's cancelled; every scheduled proper programme is cancelled EXCEPT versions of the 1/6/10. The continous channels ie: N24, World and 5 Live will be very different, with almost no live news, and consisting of a lot of stock programmes from tape.

Wouldn't read to much into it.

From the people I've spoken to it appears BBC Midlands will particually badly hit - With some quite high profile figures staying at home and others simply not doing anything. Shall be interesting to watch mind.
Apparently some real icons of Midlands Today may pop up.
