It's hard to go everywhere - and the tour has been to Birmingham before, Edinburgh's been lucky to have it twice and Sheffield is in the North in BBC region terms.

Surely you remember how much fun Newcastle was though?!

I really have that event to thank for where I am now - lots of people in NE and C know me now and I've had experience shadowing and visiting, etc. Luck, i guess, as a certain Pat Loughrey happened to be there as I was presenting Wink

I went to the BBC News Tour in Edinburgh two years ago. It was brilliant - had a go at the presenting on the radio, weather and we recorded an actual news bulletin, I was the main anchor for the Six! If this wasn't enough, Jane Hill was on hand to give me a few tips! If you get the chance to go then go for it because its brilliant!

Might see if I can get along this year - I nearly did last year at Harrogate but I couldn't get away from the tent I was working in for long enough

Shame there is not a longer tour and perhaps visiting city centres as well as county showgrounds and fairs. Canterbury, Maidstone, Brighton, Eastbourne... just to mention a few locations I would have liked to see. But of course I would because they are closer to where I live Very Happy

At last it comes somewhere close to where I live, in fact to my home city of Sheffield (with the closest before being in Liverpool and Birmingham). I anticipate it to be a really good day at trying things I wouldn't normally be able to do.
