Wasn't sure which thread to put this in, but apparently Reporting Scotland has been finishing early this week like English Regions are for the Party Election Broadcasts, but as the are no such Broadcasts for Scotland pres are using Nigel Slater filler.

If that's correct it seems bizarre for Rep Scot not to do the standard duration.

Agreed! That's bizarre.

yesterday it was 26mins but since One show starts at 18.58 that sounds about right. Maybe on monday there never got the correct details from network?

the listings on bbc.co.uk/programmes only have Nigel Slater down on Wednesday, but then again they also say Jackie Bird is presenting, so maybe they've to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Who did Tuesday's Reporting Scotland- Monday was Sally McNair and yesterday i think was Laura MacIver. Next week the schedule shows Laura MacIver presenting Mon-Fri excluding Tuesday when it is Graham then Catronia is doing Mon-Wed the week after. Any news on replacement for Jackie?

The Daily Record got overnights.tv to have a look at The Nine’s viewing figures:

https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/entertainment/tv-radio/bbc-scotland-fears-nine-viewing-14439240

Average audience of 14k last week - one episode at the start at the month (on a Monday and a big news day) was under 9k.

As a point of comparison, Reporting Scotland did about 250k last week.

Sorry, I know I'm incredibly late to the party here but the opening titles to the Nine are just awful, absolutely dreadful. I completely get what they were trying to achieve but boy it doesn't work.

First time I saw them my reaction was genuinely laughter, which I’m not sure was the intention.

The only reasons I can see that The Nine isn't doing well is that it's on a small digital channel that only has Freeview coverage in Scotland (national coverage on other platforms), plus the scheduling is up against big hitters on the main channels, including those on BBC One Scotland.

IMHO, there's nothing wrong with the editorial policy of the bulletin or the visuals.

In an ideal world, The Nine would become the Scottish Six on BBC One Scotland, so you have this as a tick box exercise to please those who want a Scottish focused world news bulletin on a minority channel instead.
