No. It’s not coming back. The BBC said it could come back if I accepted a new, late afternoon time in the BBC2 schedule. But BBC2 bosses did not want it back at 7pm. I declined the new time so the show was cancelled. Sorry. Thanks for your interest. Best to you and father. https://t.co/tnrOOZZDgT

Doesn't make either party look good. Putting a live programme in a slot usually held by repeats of Flog It seems to be a waste of money but at the same time it appears that Andrew thinks he is above being part of the daytime schedule.
I can't think of anyone else the BBC has that is able to rip apart an MP like he does.

Dosent Stephen Sackur do that on Hardtalk?

Emily Maitliss and almost any presenter on Newsnight - different style but you only have to ask Prince Andrew how effective it is. Trouble is the government have dictated the BBC need a programme other than Newsnight to tear apart government ministers.

That sounds not just a budget issue but a ratings issue, if they didn't want it at 7pm but were happy with it at 5pm
At the end of the day, Andrew Neil interviewing a second rate MP, outside of an election period, would not rate well, and wouldn't kick start BBC Two's evening schedule

Prince Andrew was a sitting duck.

Emily Maitliss is good, but I guess it depends on personal preference. There is an entertainment aspect to these things on most occasions (I know we might not like to admit it). Andrew Neil's interviews are more entertaining to me personally. If the BBC don't want him, I really hope another channel will take him on.

Because a repeat of the celebrity antiques road trip is a sure ratings winner...
