Eesh... the header just looks wrong with the giant BBC logo, and a BBC News logo right beneath it. Bleugh.

The graphic to the right looks promising as a sneaky-peeky towards the new look for BBC News, but I really dislike the direction they've taken with the implementation of the new top-level header bar - it's far less practical, useful and flexible than the design it replaces. Yuk yuk yuk.

Hmm I think they need to change the font because it looks old, maybe just to Arial. The left nav looks good but I don't like the bits on the right... and the 'watch live' is in the wrong place and logos need to be sorted.

I agree - that did strike me as rather ill-conceived. And other parts of the layout seem a little messy too - the right hand sidebar on the stories doesn't seem as nice as it could be.

But I really like the graphic element to the right - I can see something in that which reminds me of a previous look of One New in New Zealand. Overall (based on what we can see so far), it looks like a much fresher look for the BBC News website, and a welcome update. I look forward to seeing more of it rolled out.

Well it was already mentioned that the BBC News logo would appear underneath the BBC logo so that's not a surprise but it looks really poor - especially as they don't even line up. Not really sure overall because only a few pages up so far, looks a little bare but thats probably just the wider spacing making it look that way.

The new sport layout seems a little bit better, the BBC Sport logo doesn't clash as much.
