Is it nearly spring yet!!!???

Don't bring that one up Daniel. 'Spring' is not a definative event or period. You'll set the Trolls off again quoting astronomical data from the 'ever-reliable' Wiki! Laughing

Well according to Google, today is the 1st day of Spring - so, as each Season is 1/4 of the year, they've got 3 months from today to complete it!

EDITED DUE TO NUMERACY PROBLEMS! Embarassed

I'm sure your "16 month" years help to make you eternally youthful Moz (in terms of age anyway) Wink

Interesting you say May- wasn't that the same sort of time the 1999 cream & red scheme from Lambie-Nairn lauch was launched???

Good point. Although, the 2nd is a Friday and these things tend to happen on Mondays, so I'll change that to the 5th.

Which is a Bank Holiday, so Tuesday 6th may be a safer bet?

Bank holidays are always a bit sketchy and dull for news output- so maybey the tuesday may be an option?

As far as design wise, looking at the bbc website; do you think that maybey a contemporary take on a retro design will be introduced like what we see with the vintage clock on their hompage? could be quite a nice twist.

Very Ashes to Ashes- and totally vintage but have to say i love it!!

And most important, the online teams will be at home stuffing themselves with chocolate eggs rather than at TVC bringing a new website online. Smile

Easter holidays would be a really bad time to launch a rebrand for many reasons.

Whoops, not paying attention there!

As a rule though, the beeb would not action any major technical change on or around a bank holiday. And putting live the new branding and layouts in CPS would be a major technical change.

Although the journalists do work round the clock, most of the technical staff not directly involved with broadcast (like the developers) do not. So in the event of something bad happening there would be few people with the right skills around to fix it. At Christmas the change freeze lasts about 2 weeks BTW.

Someone did send me a schedule for the news online website relaunch dates recently, but I've since lost it! I'm sure I would have remembered if a bank holiday launch was involved though, for the reasons above.

That's a dangerous thing to say on TV Forum!
