Isn't the problem there that News 24 don't have the ability to play out two separate feeds to different channels.

If the N6 gallery is unavailable, how are they managing to produce an N24 branded version with tickers & what not & a clean BBC1 version at the same version?

They're not. N24 is tickerless at the moment

That's not usually the case, though. There usually is a ticker and DOG on News 24. This is the first time (AFAIK) it's been clean on both channels.

As I understand it, the N24 ticker is on one of the outputs of the mixer, and a clean version is also available, which is what is sent to World and network. I'm sure I remember reading on here ages ago that N24 actually have four outputs for various purposes, with varying amounts of graphics.

The News 24 ticker, clock, logo, name supers, and story astons are all generated from the same graphics source (the locations are separate) This is now a Viz box, but has been the case since the days of TOG (when the "Tower" and ticker arrived)

HOWEVER the current design means the ticker, clock and logo are all in the bottom strip of the frame, so you just mask the key on the BBC One feed so that only the bits above the clock, ticker and logo appear on that feed, but the whole source is keyed on the News 24 feed. (For a couple of days the masking wasn't quite right and the bottom of the name supers was clipped - and it still looks a little "snug" on descenders...)

Prior to Viz (and TOG) before it - the name supers and story straps were generated using an Aston, the clock was added using a clock generator, and the News 24 logo was added using a bug burner - meaning that it was quite easy to source feeds with and without clocks, with and without News 24 dogs etc. just by taking a key pre or post that keyer.

BBC News website to be re-launched in-line with the new Beeb homepage style at the same time as the new look. Very Happy

Where'd you get this from?

It's not a full scale relaunch - it's being tweaked to fit into the new global BBC header, and also the banner will be changing to accomodate the new look branding.

So presumably will end up looking something not too dissimilar to...

..which I think looks pretty good, really.

Yeah, quite good, I can't see a 'full scale relaunch' of a news website being massively different anyway.

Nah. I'd expect 'BBC NEWS' to be incorporated into the header.

Yeah, I guess benjy did too, hence why he included it.

I think he means the main header?

Remember this is only speculation. Wink
