If the new look for BBC news is different to what we have now, News 24's set will need redoing to match, Unless BBC World sticks with its current look?

BBC World are moving into N8, IIRC.
I doubt they will cover up the newsroom, I think they will keep the transparent glass, but the set will be more of a square shape, just to make it look more like News 24 (when they move into N6)

Couldn't tell you if this is a genuine 3D view or just a mock but it gives a sweep of the studio - there's another part not seen in the clips so far.
BTW, what sort of channel is it - seems quite a young channel from the newsreaders they use - feels like what C5 were doing a few years ago, and should arguably still be doing now.
Getting back to the topic at hand I think it shows possibly what the BBC needs - having a second area in the same studio out-of-vision which can probably be prepared while the other part of the studio is on air gives them quite a bit of flexibility.
P.S. Great stuff mtda - though I still don't really understand the need for the two desks.

Its a shame there are no videos of a full broadcast, but these show varios angles with the different colour schemes

I didn't know there was a extra set behind. Looks great.
I know this isn't going to happen, but where was the Election 2005 programme presented from? It would be fantastic if a set was built there.
I hope they look at the VRT set and graphics for ideas. Those titles they use are fantastic, the globe could be used in that sort of way - quick and colourful. I don't think they would go down the route of different coloured news bulletins though.

What is the plan for those occasions when BBC Scotland opts out and the national news is repeated live for them? I guess the options are:
N24 viewers get to watch the network bulletin again
Scotland play a recording of what went out on network (which is dodgy)
Use TC7 if available
BBC Scotland do their own combined national and regional bulletin
I guess the last option would be dodgy politically given the BBC's desire to avoid calls for a Scottish Six

All three often opt-out on Saturday for local sports coverage. On occasions this will mean that the local sporting coverage continues past the time that network run the teatime news, and historically the nation (Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland) schedules a later network news in a slot that network can re-run a version of the earlier bulletin, though it is always updated if the news has moved on, though if it hasn't some live interviews done earlier are recorded and replayed as "earlier I spoke to" versions to avoid wasting satellite time etc.
In recent memory I can only recall BBC Scotland taking this option - though possibly Wales may have done occasionally.
