I don't think anyone is really sure. Something is happening at 08.30 BST on BBC News channel but whether we get anything before that is anyone's guess.

Can I just confirm (and sorry, i've searched through this incredibly long forum for an answer) what the launch time is for the new look BBC World? Is it 0500 GMT?

The more I see - the worse it gets. That Countdown shot looks cheap and I'm hoping that doesn't make it onto screen, but fear it will. As for World News Today - messy, awful branding.
That BBC News "ident" though looks far better than the version which will be used in the titles. I suspect though it'll only be used for promos for the channel and perhaps on "screens" in the studio, not that they really have screens though.

The 8.30 line from the observer? Seems a bit odd to jump to conclusions based on that doesn't it?
Maybe he doesn't get in until 8:30, so doesn't know what is happening behind the scenes in order for News 24 to air?
Well considering I am co presenting BBC Breakfast tomorrow I cannot really comment
LOL
Up early then.

The DOG and ticker have now returned. Not long left for them though.
If I remember rightly in 2003, when the BBC introduced the Red and Black look, didn't BBC News 24 do some testing of their new graphics and titles overnight one day actually on air, when only a few people were watching. This time they haven't done that, so they must be pretty confident that everything will look OK.
It is in fact my 21st Birthday today and i've been on about News 24 needing a new set for well over a year now and they "happen" to relaunch a day after my birthday - great coincidental Birthday present from the BBC.

News 24 now DOG and Tickerless.
Also the split screen with the globe that used to spin in the background is now a still shot.

I would of thought it's because of there being a correspondent covering the popes visit, and they want to share his knowledge
or

Interesting to note perhaps that News 24 has joined BBC World. Some changes taking place in N8 perhaps?
