Everything is a boring peice of rubbish to you isn't it? You don't like anything, just like we don't like you.
I think you'll find that most people would prefer a video countdown to watching the same globe spinning for 60 seconds. Two people have already agreed with me since Martin's post.
Its not about agreeing with you, its about the rude way in which you go about it.
Oh for God's sake, it's called banter. It's a normal process between friends, and while we're not exactly friends on this forum, me and Martin have been discussing things here long enough that I would have thought pleasantaries are no longer required.
I really appreciate Martin's talents in producing what he's done. It's an almost flawless recreation of the new titles and I'd never have the ability to be able to create it. When I said it was rubbish, I meant the idea - which isn't Martin's (well, not our Martin's).

Hopefully it's Martin's. It would be a terrible decision if they had that boring piece of rubbish as the countdown.

I quite like the current one. Previous live-action countdowns have been a bit dull, but the addition of the red data streams and inclusion of the news-gathering elements has made it into a rather lovely piece of pres.
That said, I still loved the '99 countdown, and the anorak in me would love another graphical one.

Nothing we haven't seen before here, but still a nice gallery of how BBC News' look has changed throughout the years from MediaGuardian to bring back some memories.

I personally think it's time for a COMPLETE replacement and overhaul - new studio, sets, music, graphics and products. The imminent changes constitute more of a tweak than a replacement.
The last proper complete overhaul was the change from the virtual era to the new (David Lowe) drumbeat era, most of which still remains today, with several recent tweaks being based on the "red" theme.
Further edit: It's about time for some new faces too on the mainline bulletins.
Pity.

Yeah I think by then we will see a presenter shake-up too. Possibly a new main presenter for the Ten and a shake-up for the Six. I would like to see Emily Maitlis replace Fiona Bruce as seconday presenter on the Ten. With Sian and Fiona taking turns to do the Six. Nicholas Owen on the One?
Any way back to this rebrand, what are we expecting from the countdown? graphics or visuals?

I would hope Sophie Raworth sticks about as well!

I found this just a few minutes ago:

It looks different from the usual ending of the titles, so I would presume its some sort of advert/promotion?
Edit: Unless World News America will have different titles?
