I am sorry but I cannot agree with you. The current BBC Scotland titles are very dated. When you see the titles from across the rest of the United Kingdom you will realise how dated they are.
If we do see the new look News at Ten - I guess we will see that titles can be adapted to give the broadcast a sense of modernity and I personally think that is what Reporting Scotland needs.
In saying that, I firmly believe that titles alone cannot make Reporting Scotland more watchable. The presenters and journalism is a major factor and I wonder how this new stv programme will affect it...even if this stv programme turns out to be a lifestyle magazine show.

I personally don't see the need for new titles. They were changed a year ago, they work perfectly, the music while not as good as it was in 1999, it still does the job.

Any ideas of names?
I think the eye meant 'titles' as in the intro video to the programme/hour, not the names of the programmes.
I know, I just thought if he knew that much, he might know the related stuff.

I was told a few weeks ago there were going to be new titles for everything.

New look for the regions too? They've only just rebranded North-West Today/Tonight, or could that be an indicator of how the other regions will go? I hope they get rid of the swirly things around the globe - I've never quite undertood what that design is meant to be.

Think it's supposed to represent the connections around the globe as BBC News communicate. May be wrong though but is seems plausable!

It doesn't, but in an ideal world, it would be better if it did mean something as well as looking nice. For example, the old concentric circles did mean something, and also looked good!

Does it have to mean to mean anything? People keep saying that, like for the ITV1 idents, but if they look good, which both examples do, then what is the problem?

They don't need to represent something as such. I just thing the idea of swirly things which form up in quite an odd design around the globe just looks a bit strange. Just my opinion of them, and they've been around for five years now. I think a completely new look would be good. I'd also like to see some decluttering of the screen; I don't understand why they need titles for particular stories on News 24. I find that patronising, and it's generally obvious when a live interview is being shown: they don't need a live box on the screen the whole time. I don't see the need for a ticker either. If you want a summary, go online or press red. I doubt decluttering is likely anytime soon - all this on-screen rubbish seems quite fashionalbe across news channels at the mo anyway.
