This is an interesting comparison, they cut at exactly the same time in places and the end form up looks similar on both for a while.

The One, Six and Ten are expected to run to time - but there isn't a gallery PA (and hasn't been since 1998ish)...the producers and directors usually manage to keep it within 5 seconds or so on a good day...
Quite impressive. Not quite the same, but if anybody should want to see how gallery timings can fall apart look at sky at xx:54. Even on a slow news day, when they are simply coming out of a report, they seem to be able to cock it up. Giving the presenter as long as a minute or as little as a quick 'more news next' to finish on.
I suspect though that the timings of the ad breaks in the back half hours have a bearing on this.
Isn't tv magic?
Off course BBC World directors and producers need to hit 4 hard opts in every 26 minute programme and usually manage it.

well, I can imagine, every TOTH, the news channel opens with "It's (when) O'clock. The headlines from BBC News."

Not a bad idea. That way the News Channel, and the National News can open identically and not seem too odd, except for the big number in the globe, but eh hoh...
Oh BBC World News cant do the same, they would probably open with...
"This is the BBC World News with Mike Embley... the Headlines... [cue bed]"

It's the new music.

Was that the new BBC News theme on that Embedded video or the existing one? I can't tell the difference really.

Misquote there.... it's a small C on channel though.... with ITV News Channel it was a big C, emphasising that it was part of the channel title. Other example - you could say it's on the Star Asia channel or it's on the Zone Horror channel. Doesn't mean that "channel" is part of the name... Ergo the name of the channel will be "BBC News".

Interesting that just the night before the soft rebrand of the channel, Huw said "over on News 24" - no BBC. I imagine it's going to sound a bit odd saying and now over on the BBC News Channel.
