Good point, one I had thought of but thought it was due to it being able to be used for any programme with a flick of a switch.

Oh dear. I much preferred the old one - it would surely only take a bit of modification to put changeable lighting in?

Nothing to do with lighting. Its SIZE. The new desk is a halfway house between the Working Lunch desk and the Newsnight desk - allows us to use it for Single and Double Presentation (without 'dwarfing the presenters) and allows us to get all the guests we need to get round it for Newsnight discussions.

... but looks pretty damn ugly!

Don't really like the new desk, but thought the studio in general was better. I don't see what the big problem with the weather is - looked all right to me.

This studio is far better than N6. It's only now that you notice how much bigger it is! So much more room- bigger baking tray, more space, bigger video wall.

Oh and the lighting looks far better- moddy and serious (helped by the black floor). I wish they would stay in here and never move back Wink

I cant understand why they dont use the desk that is the same model as N6s (the working lunch/temp BBC world)one insted of that one all of the time.

Gotta say, hideous is one word for it all, I don't like the lighting in TC7 its too rusty looking. Especially when BBC World were in there.

Yes after the N6 Relaunch.
Breakfast, The Six and the 8pm Summary will remain in TC7.
The Ten will move back to N6.

Am i right in thinking the 1 is being made more a part of BBC News 24 rather than just a Bulletin News 24 opt into.
