Of course I'm being sarcastic. The music is practically identical, why would that change my opinion of the new look?

It may be the same tune but it is quite different - it's been toned down a LOT. Fewer swooshes and other FXs. I think it's quite a classy version; certainly better than the rather brash current version.

It might change opinions on the music. And to be honest, your opinion is your opinion, so no need to get defensive, its not like anyone is trying to change your mind!

Sounds the same to me.

Nevertheless, it is still practically the same. I can hear the difference, but it's still the same.

The Guardian have posted a video of the new titles: nothing new, just a pretty nice quality video:

Bozz

That is better quality than the (rather slow, cos of demand) view on the bbc.co.uk site. However, it's squashed to 4:3 and I can't seem to find a way to stretch it back to 16:9.

Any ideas?

In Gomplayer you can change the aspect ratio to 16:9 to view it.

Could you try embed it into the forum as 16:9...

Now I look at it: in terms of the animation, the pan out of the globe from the left - at 0:07 - feels as if that should be the shot of natural conclusion, instead of the actual angle on which it settles.

Of course........how sneaky!!!!!! Why didn't I think of that. It's a shame it's not the extended version on the bbc.co.uk site.....which often pauses in the middle.
