Just had a look at the new titles: fantastic. They look much better animated than the stills we'd been seeing previews of. Looking forward to seeing the new look on television now, albeit on the "BBC News Channel"

That'd cost more. They're not contracted to do those hours.
True I suppose, but they're only hanging around the newsroom for half an hour anyway - it surely can't cost that much to pay them to do 30 minutes on a domestic channel.

Why don't they just get the BBC World presenter to do BBC World news from 9.30 - 10?

It's partly asking more of them in terms of knowledge - World presenters have their heads tuned to what World are running, so switching into to 24 mode for half an hour and being across their stories is a big ask.

Jonathan Charles manages OK when he's covered on News 24.

That's not what we're saying, though. Both the eye and myself are suggesting running a half hour a world news as used to be the case every day (then latterly every Sunday morning) at 9.30am.

Yeah for a day not half an hour...
Interesting that the Ten is still going to have rehearsal time- a good move in my book!

I have to say though it's been nice seeing Gavin Estler covering some shifts on News 24. Don't see much of him on there anymore - why's that?
