I wasn't sure where to put my comment on it, so I put it in the BBC News Thread as the rebrand hasn't happened yet.

So how did they handle the hand-over?

BBC London comes from its own complex in Marylebone. It has nothing to do with TVC.

So today's the day!
Can I ask where BBC London fits in to all of this? I assume it's filmed at TV Centre, so if necessary could their studio be used for say the hour running up to the bulletin at lunchtime.

BBC London have quite primitive opt-out gear compared to other regions. It used to be used in the days of UK Today (on DTT and partially Analogue only) but since UK Today ceased, BBC London have seldom had to opt-out - as they have been the network sustaining feed.
Now News 24 are the main sustaining feed for the headline and promo opts - though BBC London are the sustaining feed for the main opts. (Which is a bit messy)

They managed to cock the headlines up in London, they jumped abruptly from Sophie and then played out the recap bed from the nationals which was rather messy, and then a rather abrupt jump back to the titles.
Also seemed like there was a VT error on the headlines too!

They now have to opt out for the headlines and promos - at least at One O'Clock.
Totally false assumption - regional programmes for London and the South East have never (to my knowledge) come from TV Centre. Lime Grove and Elstree were their previous homes, prior to the move to their current home at Marylebone High Street. Rumour has it they are moving to central London some time in the next few years.

Lets hope they actually use the correct bed tomorrow then, because it really sounded awful jumping from the main one to the recap one both at the TOTH and at quarter past!

Firstly, please accept my apologies for being incredibly ignorant. I haven't been keeping up to date on the BBC News threads recently and being the idle so and so I am, I admittedly can't be bothered to trawl through loads of pages.
So could someone please tell me, and I genuinely don't have a clue, what the hell is going on with BBC News Today?

The National News have moved out of their studio in preparation for it to be upgraded so News 24 can share it with them in a few months time.
The One is being broadcast from News 24 ( N8 )
Breakfast, the Six and Ten are coming from TC7 (Newsnight etc studio)
The summary's are coming from the BBCi CSO screen.
Hope that helps

I thought I might be quite wrong.
Having BBC London though added to the equation could give them that bit more flexibility then need - especially in the run up to the One o'clock News and the Ten o'clock News when both main studios are required for Working Lunch/One and the Ten/Newsnight.
