I hope they do.
It's an interesting one though, as it brings up a possible conflict of interest between BBC London and BBC News as a whole. A few years ago when BBC London was launched, there was a big fanfare about the radio, television and online outlets being branded under exactly the same banner of 'BBC LDN'. Admittedly this has been watered down since it became 'London' and now the programme is mostly referred to on-screen as BBC London News. However, now BBC News is trying to do exactly the same exercise!
I'm pleased that the regions will retain their individuality through their sets. I think it's exactly right that each region has its own feel and style - to reflect the areas they represent and maintain their programme's heritage. It's good to have unified titles, it brings the brand together, but hopefully there won't be any expensive attempts to unify the regional sets.

I wonder if BBC London News will finally have the full programme title on screen? Regardless, I can't wait for the awful current titles to disappear.
I hope they do.

Well I'm sure without a doubt that the daytime summaries will be changing, they need it!
As for the 8pm updates, I'm not 100% sure whether or not they'll keep the current look but I have a feeling they will; the formatting of the text is basically the same as the new titles and there isn't really any need to change it.

Can anyone confirm this or not?

IMHO, the theme used for the Scotland and Northern Ireland titles sounds the best.
For those interested, the tune used in Nations has changed from what it was originally intended to be, so there you go.
I prefer the English Regions tune though, the stings are nicer than the actual short version of the titles.

Interesting to view the linked article from June 2006 when the dropping '24' from the channel name was first mentioned.

Am I the only person to be unable to use your website in firefox?
well it'll shut harshy up if nothing else.
I do hope the music is changed, the current one has lots of swooshy noises for the laser beams in the current sequence which simply don't match the animation of the new title sequence

I really don't like the World News logo - it looks clutter. Just "World" would be fine.
