I don't think people should worry too much about the BBC News logo being different sizes. These are just press shots. Stay calm, stop whinging, and wait until Monday.

Good advice. Remember the press shots for the BBC One dancers with the red box right in the corner, and a lot smaller than the one we ended up with.

At least the Nations are given more prominence than the regions, unlike with the 1999 look. But the Nations are not equals with Network BBC News which use the globe, and BBC World News, is looking at the whole globe, not focusing in like our domestic news.

I wonder if BBC London News will finally have the full programme title on screen? Regardless, I can't wait for the awful current titles to disappear.

The lines connecting the various cities is a nice idea, I expect they'll move, change and form-up like the old place names in 1999.

They remind me of the lines connecting up various points on a map in the original Meridian News titles (which I can't find anywhere!)

I doubt it, expect BBC LONDON, as on the 8pm updates...

Is there any current BBC News music you can say is an indication as to what to expect from the new refreshed music.

Also do you know what will be happening to the titles for

The World Today
World News Tonight
World News Today
BBC World News America

And the graphics for
The BBC Daytime Summaries
The 8pm Updates

The music is very much based on the current nationals theme - for the nationals / new channel etc. It really is just a tweak (except maybe for the countdowns - they do sound a bit more dramatic).

To be honest, I'm not really across what's happening to WNT / WNA etc, but it is my understanding (although it's been a while since I heard this, so things could have changed), there will be only one theme used across all programmes - as for the actual titles, I don't know.

Apart from Scotland and Northern Ireland, the rest of the Nations and Regions title music didn't stand out as being anything different from the variety already in use - i.e. there is not just one Nations and Regions theme - they are each different. Perhaps just new graphics tacked onto existing themes? (I don't know what each region uses now to know!)

It does look a lot better without the box IMO.

Stripped logo looks good to me

If you zoom in on that wallpaper image - what's the writing in the globe meant to be? News Stories? I can make out the name Clarence Mitchell...inquiry into...the couple's... ???
