All looks very well designed and a natural progression from the ivory era (save for the box on the regional titles; a stripped BBC News would have looked
so
much nicer).
Oh and speaking of our four-sided friend, what the hell happened here:

So much for my 'at least there'll now only be one BBC News box' comment.

Has anything been confirmed about the regional sets yet? Are they going to stay the same, or are they about to be replaced as well?

It looks like the animation will have those rings moving around the globe, just from the way the two are positioned right now. I really like the regional ones, they look similar to the old ones.

Fingers crossed that Spotlight will have a nice red and white striped lighthouse in their title sequence!!
And yes, it's all very 1999. I'm hoping they may vary the music used on different national programmes as it looks like a 1-6-10-24-World fits all title sequence again.
This was the rebrand I expected in 2003, it's odd to have a reincarnation of the 1999 look after the whole red and black era.

Is it only me who feels everything has a very 1999 feel about it? (as alluded to by those in the know.)
It's all very nice actually, I've never liked the black and red titles so I'm glad to see them go. As for people's comments about a contrast, i wouldn't worry, the current studio is very bright and predominantly white, yet the titles are black and red - I'm sure it'll look fine.
I'm most interested in seeing how the one turns out come Monday. I'd be concerned if it felt exactly the same.

At first glance, I'd say those are some
nice
designs there for the home Nations - still keeping red to tie things together, but with a soft light colour-coding - doubt that could've been handled much better; nice solution.

The regions have come out very well, although I'm a bit miffed by the BBC News box logo AND 'BBC South Today' for example.
