The town names are done very cleverly since there's now no map...

"Very cleverly"? I hope that means that the place names will do something a damn sight more interesting than just scrolling across (like on the current NWT)?

I think white, red and a globe

Does that mean that all regions will have something like the current national "globe in a plughole" as their final logo, but with a map of the region in the globe (like Wales Today already has), albeit that the rest of the title sequence will incorporate clips of the region (as currently) in some way?

The inclusion of a sphere in the final logo would allow Spotlight to once again adapt theirs to include a lighthouse spotlight motif!

EDIT: I'm especially interested to see what effort they make for South Today (Oxford) and the 22:25 Look East (Cambridge)

I never mentioned the studios... I was just talking about the titles...

I think he meant set as in collection not studio!

When would N6 normally be used first on Saturdays? Evening news or newsround etc?

Sportsround - hence the need for the midday update to come from News 24.

There are so many threads, i'm sorry i'm not fully up to speed.

So, N6 is being cleared of all use, while it is prepared for its new role as evening national and News 24 use.

So TC7 will be used by all shows, National, Breakfast, Newsnight, World Programmes etc, how will the hand-off to Newsnight work, will it have to use pre-recorded intros?

Also what does this refit include, is the studio getting a redress or is it just gallery upgrades, and how long will this process take.

Yes, eventually N6 will be the home to News 24, the 1 and the 10. Breakfast and the 6 will come from TC7.

Don't know how they'll work the hand-off to Newsnight, but there was something on the internet recently saying that Newsnight would just get 5 or 6 minutes to prepare their set, rather than the usual several hours.

EDIT: Missed a bit - don't know what's happening to the studios redress-wise. All depends on this mysterious BBC News rebranding and to which extent it has an effect on national news. Presumably N6 will need an additional pres area for N24. Galleries in N6, TC7 and N8 are all getting upgrade I think.

Think they said it'd take a few months. I'd expect News 24 to be in N6 end of April, but that's just going on what's been said here. I have no inside knowledge!

So that'll have to come from TC7 today then?

I just ment, will they be clearing out today. I saw them in the News 24 studio earlier for an update, but they cant do that all day can they, and certainly not for the nextf ew weeks as N6 gets its upgrade...

He means during the period while N6 is being upgraded, therefore out of action. The Ten O'Clock News will have to move into TC7.

They're not doing (basically) what they did when TC7 was being used for election coverage, and having the 10 come from N8 and Newsnight from TC7?

Hasn't the "midday update" on Saturdays been coming from N8 for a while now? I was watching N24 the other week about that time, and there was a very awkward bit at the end of the update where they had to pause to let BBC1 run titles.

Will the National Bulletins and updates, use a background which will resemble News 24's studio, or will it continue to use its existing graphics, leaving the One with a different look?
