God this rebrand suddenly sounds horrible - effectively calling everything BBC News is going to be dreadful! If they're loosing '24' they must also be loosing '1', '6' and '10' which will be a real shame! Part of the benefit of all those is it reminds people what time they're on!
'ITV Evening News' could, theoretically be anytime in the evening, unlike the six o'clock news which has to be on at six! Therefore people are likely to not know what time 'BBC News' is on.
It takes for ever for your brand to be known and taken seriously! BBC News 24 has built a great brand, image and reputation, and one of the things I like about it is that it's original! For me, even the '24' bit stands out on my Sky EPG compared to 'Sky News', 'CNN', 'Al Jazeera' or 'Russia Today' and I suspect lots of people will complain if '24' is lost!
So if News 24 are even changing their name, can we expect the format of N24 to be lost/ changed too? Are they moving to more of a structured bulliten or keeping it as it is? It all sounds horrible!
And presumably the BBC One bullitens will be taking up the new 'abstract newsroom' backdrop - doesn't make sense to have them as separate sets if 'BBC News' is supposedly such a strong, universal brand!
P.S. for all those who have seen the new N6, is the desk the same kind used now in TC7? And is the floor grey or black? Many Thanks

FEW! Really glad about that! So if onscreen graphics aren't rebranding, will the colours be changed?

Note peterrocket said there would not be much difference
down that bit of the screen
.... not talking about everything else...
And thinking about the tower and ticker, if you'd call colour 'changes', different font, and different 'width' 'unsignificant' changes... then I'd probably disagree.
It is a bit ghastly, but they will have to tweak the colours to match the new scheme, and if gill sans is back then that's what I mocked up...
But it is a mess!. Perhaps some hints as to the changes made to the On-Screen Architecture? Also will BBC News and the national bulletins share the same graphics as each other, or will the nationals still use a deviation?
