Last weeks Impact with Lucy Hockings was very good, although I have only seen clips previously, but managed to watch last weeks LIVE, it was very enjoyable and informative.

What role does Lucy have at the moment?

Doesn't she mainly present Friday editions of Impact?

Deputy presenter of IMPACT and alternates on the 5-7pm (UK TIME) bulletin shift with Ros Atkins, I believe.

Oh no, she said she will only continue on BBC WN reporting from different parts of the world, so she won't actually be presenting Impact. Sad
Oh well, Lucy or Babita will be great replacements.

Why does everyone dislike Gavin Grey?

Personally, I've only seen him during strikes - not exactly a time where one's personality shines through. I couldn't care less that he breaks strikes; strikebreaking seems not to have affected Komla Dumor's reputation here.

I'm going to need some of you to cast your mind backs here! Prior to the move to NBH, did one of the 11-2 presenters leave early for the News at One presenter to take their place at the desk? Like Ben or Joanna disappear now to make room for Sophie/Kate/Sian etc..

Yes, the "lead" / sceen-left-sided presenter left shortly before, and arrived back shortly after, the News at One.

Thank you. On another note, they're using Sophie Long more often now, which is good because she has a great presenting style. Also, Carole Walker made her first appearance for a few weeks yesterday. I'm beginning to warm to her, she's actually quite good behind the news desk, and it would be good to see her on more single-headed shifts, where I think she is best.

Surprised that this has not been mentioned on here yet. Maxine Mawhinney is on the 6.30pm-9pm shift on the News Channel. A rare weekday appearance.

Maxine appears every now and then, more frequently than during the last TVC era. Doesn't she work fewer hours on Saturdays now?

Is Lucy Hockings the new No1. for Impact now? It surely looks like she's the most likely .

I actually think it is highly unlikely that Lucy gets the post. I'm sure she will be the defacto presenter until they announce who is getting the job (which might take them months - January relaunch?) but is probably not considered a big enough name to front it permenantly. I suspect that will go to either Babita Sharma or Yalda Hakim.
