Alice Baxter in for Ros Atkins. Kasia Madera in for Zeinab Badawi.

Alice is popular with World News viewers, apparently.

(I know this is late, but oh well..) I agree with them, I think Alice is excellent. She is so enthusiastic about the headlines, and, on the 5am hour in the UK, is much more refreshing than the usual. And those hand gestures? I find them engaging, and welcoming. She even says hello welcome and to the audience, which can't be said for some other presenters, which makes their presentation seem hostile. In fact, the best World News bulletin presenters are Alice Baxter, Nik Gowing, Tim Willcox, David Eades, and Geeta Guru-Murthy.

Disagree with Geeta Guru-Murthy, I don't find her that good actually, I find her to be quite smug and smarmy at times.

Mike Embley is certainly one of the best though IMO.

Likewise Peter Dobbie.

Dateline London (presented by Maxine) was at 11.30 this morning, has it moved permanently or is this something to do with the national bulletin moving to 1.00?

Dateline London and Click have swapped places in the Saturday schedule but it seems no one told the Click team.

They all did very well. Glad Maxine's double shift gave her a chance. Really spectacular stuff. Such a shame on-location reporting isn't included. And how dare Jane Hill let Emily Maitlis and Carole Walker present her slot. Newswatch will be hearing about this.

I think we chose not to include on-location reporting because it can inflate some people's scores. But we may decide to include them next year as it could make things more interesting.

Surely on-location reporting should be included in your bizarre rankings system anyway, as a) they're at work and on air, so it's not "inflating" their 'score' - b) they're potentially getting more exposure than if they were working their original shift- longer hours, higher-profile bulletins - and c) they're probably working a lot harder than if they were in London (Hence I really dislike the Clive Myrie bashing post - he has definitely done some on-location reporting (forgive me for forgetting where) as well as doing the majority of Saturday national bulletins.....

It is worth mentioning that this is including shifts prior to the nBH move...so, in theory, Clive should be higher, considering he took over Jon Sopel in July. And I don't remember clive doing any recent on-location stuff? But yeah, on-location posts should be mentioned, that would certainly increase counts for Ben, Jane, and Tim.

He has been on location. I believe he reported live on location during the Lee Rigby incident. I'm pretty sure he and Chris Eakin took it in turns.

I think that it is the number of shifts...but I don't know if it includes network bulletins.

The number of shifts in brackets is only for shifts on the BBC News Channel. I understand that the list is not very well comprised, and BBC News Fix shall recount the numbers at the end of September when the next quarterly update is published. I think that for a first attempt there were mistakes, and the next count shall include ANY WORK a BBC News Channel presenter has done + ANY ON-LOCATION WORK.
