George has presented both Six and Ten all this week. What is stopping the BBC from having one presenter for both the Six and Ten? Apart from George's commitment to GMT (which I assume he hasn't presented this week) and Huw's News at Five on BBC News Channel. Surely it would be cheaper and unlike the 1980s & 90s both are produced by same team so would make sense.

Firstly, Fiona presents both the six and the ten, while still presenting Antiques Roadshow. Secondly, why stop having the news at 5 being produced by the same team they are not being simulcast on BBC One or any other channel. I dont think it would make any diffrence to cost. Huw is there as a News Channel Presenter not a BBC News at 10. As for GMT I think its nice to have a diffrent presenter for GMT every once in a while

It would reduce the head count on BBC1. Currently there is 3. Huw Monday to Thursday on Ten whilst George on the Six and Fiona presenting both Six and Ten on Friday. If same presenter presented both Six and Ten, you would only need two. One maybe Monday to Wednesday and other Thursday and Friday. Of course this wont help GMT and News at Five.

Personally I could see this happening when either Huw or George leave. They already do it when both Huw and Fiona are off.

Naga is on the late morning shift today and is having amazing banter with Aaron. Laughing They even managed to turn the camera shake attack into lots of fun.

I'm used to her saying "BBC News" despite the fact that it's not simulcast... I guess it was programmed into her now. haha. Very Happy

Gosh, I missed all the fun Crying or Very sad Naga was on late morning yesterday too, Nik Gowing's slot right? She was with Alice Baxter. Her World Today slot was taken by Martine Dennis. She and Aaron are always a little mischievous.

Btw, Naga is super hardworking this time round. With her doing double shifts some days ago, ie. World Today, and then GMT. She hasn't done GMT since ages ago I believe, in the days when she used to wear glasses at times.

Former ITV News sports correspondent Natalie Pirks did what I think was her first live for BBC News this evening during the sports bulletin on BBC One from Wembley.

Alice Baxter in for Ros Atkins. Kasia Madera in for Zeinab Badawi.

Alice is popular with World News viewers, apparently.
