Are you not thinking of Adnan Nawaz, the former World News sports presenter who slowly moved over to full time newsreading? As the above poster mentioned, Rajesh was the BBC's midlands correspondent for a long time, making him one of the more visible correspondents on national news, before heading over to work in (I believe) Los Angeles and then Washington for the Beeb.

hmm... i believe he was once a relief presenter for World News Today with Philippa during late-night hours (intended for US-West Coast audience), but after WNT was moved back to TVC he simply became a reporter for Hollywood showbiz.

This man,Rajesh Mirchandani, is indeed the presenter of the Sunday afternoon slot yesterday.
