Good to see Martine used on the network bulletin this tea time.

Yes, agreed, mind you everyone else appears to have been despatched to Madrid

I'm not sure what Clive Myrie being there adds to the proceedings.

Odd they’ve sent a senior news reporter rather than just the sports editor, especially when we keep being told they are cutting down on location presenting.

I think another one who deserves more prominence is Annita McVeigh. She's really come into her own in the last couple of years since taking on the hustle and bustle of Newsroom Live, the busiest part of the day for breaking news. Shes cool, calm, collective, asks good questions and really gets to the nitty gritty of any story thrown her way. She's also fab on location.

I'll echo this. I remember her anchoring the coverage of the repatriation of bodies from the MH17 crash in 2014. Alongside (I think) Anna Holligan, she kept the coverage going and was well briefed on the nuances of Dutch protocol.

Huw is certainly earning his BBC salary this weekend. I like Huw.

For working a Sunday and a Bank Holiday?

No, for the extra work covering the EU elections, local elections etc. Huw and his team were kept very busy this May 2019

Huw is the BBC's chief anchor I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't got most of the summer off (pending elections) because over last month he has presented two election nights, D-Day, plus extra bulletins.

Good to see Lewis presenting a day shift on the News Channel. In general, it's good to see many of the predominately World News presenters now getting a chance to present on the domestic News Channel during the day, rather than only on simulcasts overnight which are primarily for World News viewers.
