George Alagiah, for the 3rd week running, is AGAIN not presenting the news at six. Anyone know wants happened?

His contract probably isn't for 52 1/2 weeks of the year.

Well he was away for about 2 weeks filming in (?) Africa - he's maybe on holiday now Smile

Oh Jane Hill, swearing on the NC just as it came back from weather. Obviously the mics were turned on a bit early, and you can quite clearly her her say 'I can't be arsed now'.

Yes, he was doing that. But still, would've classed going to Africa to report as a holiday! Smile

I think the 2-5 is quite a weak broadcast now TBH. I think that Ben and Joanna are doing the best job at the moment.

Earlier in the week/last week (can't remember!) Emily Maitlis made a similar blooper where upon the return from the xx45 headlines (where the presenters now read out the current bourse values to suffice for a 4-min business update) she sarcastically muttered, "well, that was really comprehensive!" True. So true.

I wouldn't class going on a work assignment as holiday, by that rhetoric a correspondent being sent from London to say Damascus would be classed as a holiday.
