The furthest he will get at the moment will just be more Sunday Breakfast.

Following the recent issue, sadly, I don't see Ben Thompson going anywhere, in an upwards direction, anytime soon.

Yeah, I agree. He also doubled down it seemed by posting a picture of him and his husband (or partner) on Instagram (linked on twitter) kissing. Right after making statements were condemned. It almost seemed like he was telling the BBC I dare you.

Doesn't publicly criticising the corporation usually result in you being able to choose what job you want?

He'll be hosting the Ten next week!

Or just living his life as normal. The fact that a picture like that is even comment-worthy here is making his point for him.

I agree with Noggin. The last few posts are unfair and irrelevant.

Leave the guy alone, I say.

I have no issue with it. But it was a repost and not as a TBT.

The "coming up" promos seem to have been revoiced, they are no longer Jane Hill.

I think the 11pm one was updated earlier this year when the Newsnight repeat was quietly dropped, which would have been after Jane started her leave so they used a man who I don't recognise the voice of. The rest of the promos throughout the day are still voiced by Jane.

The 8pm one has been re-voiced I think too.

I've been hearing a mix of both voices recently.

Elizabeth Glinka has moved from Politics Live to UK Correspondent at Newsnight. It also appears she's continuing to present Sunday Politics in the London region.

I liked her on Midlands Today, she is a good, solid presenter that would have been an ideal permanent replacement or cover for Mary Rhodes. No surprise that she has gone on to better things. Quite a few from the Midlands have popped up on the News Channel - David Gregory, Kathryn Stanczyszyn and Mel Coles.
